How will you make life easier for millions of storytellers worldwide:

The heart of our business is to make it easy and fast for our users to create really good looking videos, and with the increase in users and video renders, we always strive to improve the way we build and render the videos for our users to be faster and more efficient.

Your responsibilities include: 

• Implementing features and functionality using mainly TypeScript, Node.js and Angular

• Deploying your code, ensuring that it’s well tested and working as expected

• Troubleshooting and debugging systems to ensure reliability and performance

• Reviewing other developers’ code and working together with the team to find the best solutions

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of our technical architecture and design

What about the tech?

We use Angular and Typescript to build the frontend of our web application.

Our backend is built using Node.js, Express and Typescript, structured as microservices and running on AWS Kubernetes, with Github Actions powering our CI/CD pipelines.

Our data layer is built on MongoDB, using Mongoose for schema modelling, and we process background jobs through BullMQ.

Additionally, our rendering is built with Rust, and we compile some of it to WebAssembly for use within our frontend. However, you would primarily work with TypeScript in this role.

Please note that we don't expect you to have experience working with all the tech we use, instead we hope you want to grow in your role with us!

What about the team?

Glad you asked! Team spirit and collaboration are super important for us and currently, we're around 10 developers working together to make our product great.

We work as a single, cross-functional fullstack team, responsible for everything from feature design to implementation and testing.

We’re also supported by cross-functional roles such as DevOps, UI/UX, and Product Management.

Ownership and autonomy are super important for us, and usually, our developers work on a feature from design and development, to release and maintenance in production.

Who are we looking for - really?

You think JavaScript is a nice language for web development, but when it's combined with TypeScript it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You have probably developed at least one modern web application, perhaps using Angular or React. Either way, you feel that you would be comfortable working with Angular apps.

You generally have a strong belief about using the right kind of tool for the right problem and you’re skeptically curious about new frameworks, libraries, and programming languages.

In addition to this, we believe that you:

• Have at least three years of experience working with software development, either as a frontend, backend or fullstack developer

• Are comfortable communicating in English

• Are a team player, as happy to share your knowledge as you are to consider others’ ideas
